West Malvern

Reverend Peter Baron MA, who was Vicar of St James's Church for more than 30 years, died peacefully at his home in Colwall on Sunday at the age of 92. There will be a funeral service at St James's tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm, to be followed by burial at Colwall. Reverend Baron came to West Malvern from Devon in 1952, when he exchanged livings with the then vicar of St James's, the Reverend JEC Adams, who had held the position since 1926. On his retirement in 1983, Reverend Baron moved to Colwall, but remained an occasional attender at services in his old church, most recently to mark the 90th birthday of his fellow clergyman the Reverend Douglas Green.  more...
