RESIDENTS interested in the Bromsgrove town centre St John's ward are being invited to the next PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meeting on Thursday, January 10. It starts at 7pm at St John's Middle School in Watt Close. Updates will be given on the priorities identified at the last meeting. These include speeding in Worcester Road, alcohol-related drunken disorder and associated noise and litter in relation to gatherings of pub and club-goers in Hanover Street and Worcester Road and the surrounding area, and the continuing problem of boy racers' in Windsor Street and the town centre. Community support officer Julie Wright said: "Representatives from Bromsgrove police, Bromsgrove District Council, Worcestershire County Council, Bromsgrove District Housing Trust, Neighbourhood Watch and others will be there to listen and take action."  more...

Car crash

EMERGENCY services were called to a road accident in Hagley on December 27. Two vehicles, a blue Mitsubishi Space Wagon and a black Renault Clio, were involved in the incident southbound on the A456 Birmingham Road, at the junction with School Lane. Firefighters and police attended and both cars were made safe. There were no reported injuries. Witnesses should call Hagley police on 08457 444888.  more...
