Letters

Re-open canals for the good of environment

Why the obsession with German things?

SIR - In reply to Stanley D Parr (Letters, August 29) let me first make it quite clear that my ideal would be for the Post Office to revert to pre-Thatcher days when it was an integral part of the Civil Service and the envy of the world.  more...

The patient should always come first

SIR - I write with regard to the article (Worcester News, July 22) where Ben Nock, having discharged himself from hospital, was not allowed to have pain killers to alleviate the pain he was suffering for a fractured leg. Thank you for the wonderful care

Get in touch

Carrying on from my letter (Your Letters, September 7) I have been in touch with First buses and Astons Coaches. Both companies do not accept each others tickets on their busses. Declining service

I AM amazed at Worcestershire County Council in cutting the bus service on the Brook Farm estate to every two hours after 9am. In the past few years we have seen the service dwindle from two an hour, to one an hour and now every two hours. They have invested in a 42A service which runs to Court Road, St. Andrew's Road to Fruitlands, so the Fruitlands estate remains with a bus an hour.  more...

It’s already here

WE were interested to read the account of the Malvern Hills District Police and Community Consultative Group's recent meeting (Malvern Gazette, September 7) and the assertion by Insp. Clive Griffiths that "the government's idea of introducing a Mediterranean-style café culture was never going to work in this country." While we understand the concerns over problems associated with the new licensing laws, we would suggest that a visit to Pepper & Oz during an evening would be most beneficial to anyone who does not believe that a Mediterranean-style café culture could be introduced into Malvern - it has been.  more...
