GARDENING CLUB: A lucky break in this year's abysmal weather provided a warm, sunny afternoon for the annual show which was held on Saturday. The event was well supported with many local people and visitors enjoying the displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables. The floral art section included Victorian-style posies, miniature displays and arrangements on the theme of Harvest Time. In the cookery section there were cherry cakes, biscuits, scones, preserves and an opportunity for the men to show off their cooking skills with a men-only section.  more...
