METHODISTS of the Bromsgrove circuit filled the Golden Cross Lane, Catshill, church, to overflowing when they united to pay tribute to the Rev and Mrs J Wesley Homer at a farewell service. Mr Homer had been superintendent minister since 1945 and had now retired from the active ministry at the end of 40 years. Of these, 18 were spent in Bromsgrove for he was minister from 1931-37 and returned at the end of the war. "He put the Gospel before us in a way we could understand," said chairman of the meeting Mr T H Griffin.
