Eights excel in a shoot-out success

THE Under-8s squad representing Evesham United Robins returned home victorious from Sunday's Nunnery Wood tournament.
After a goalless draw against Pershore Town and a win and defeat against Ledbury and Nunnery Wood respectively, the youngsters met Leigh and Bransford in the quarter-finals.
A 2-0 win booked a semi-final place where they again met the home side who were knocked out after a goalless game led to a penalty shoot-out that saw Evesham win 7-6.
Pershore Town were the opponents in the final and it was Thomas Backx who grabbed the only goal of the match two minutes from time to secure the trophy.
Backx was joined in the successful squad by Tariq Lamb, Dominic Taylor, Connor Arm-ento, Ben Ainsworth, Jonathon Robinson, Joseph O'Hara, Will Warren, Josh Lewis and Will Farrell.
