PANTO fans will be in for a treat when the Monday Night Group's fun-fllled production gets underway in Stourport next week.
Entertainers will present Robin Hood and Babes In The Wood at Stourport Civic Hall from Friday, January 26 to Saturday, February 3.
This year's production, which stars around 15 cast members, will also include a sketch based on TV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Favourite characters including Robin Hood, Maid Marion and the Sheriff of Nottingham will all be taking to the stage for 12 action-packed shows.
Group secretary, Jo Rush said: "The Sheriff of Nottingham and his horrible sister Lucretia are wards of the two babes.
"They are two very stroppy teenagers, who get up to mischief and play tricks on everybody.
"The Sheriff and Lucretia agree to take them into the forest where they will be killed so they can collect their inheritance. I'm playing the Wicked Witch who is helping the Sheriff and Lucretia by giving them lots of evil powers.
"Robin Hood and Maid Marion, along with the fairy, Starlight, are trying to stop the plan. There's also Primrose who looks after the pantomime horse Dobbin."
Since becoming a registered charity in 1981, the group has raised more than £250,000 for worthy causes and last year's pantomime, Cinderella, made a profit of £19,000, which was distributed among 98 local groups and charities.
Miss Rush said: "It's a traditional pantomime with lots of audience participation and hopefully the more people that come and see it the more we can raise to give away to local groups and charities."
Members of the group, which was founded in 1967, write their own scripts and make their own costumes, props and scenery.
There are 12 performances and they start at 7.15pm on January 26, 29, 30 and 31 and on February 2 and 3. Shows will also take place at 1pm and 5pm on January 27, 11am and 11am and 3pm on January 28 and on February 3 at 3pm.
Tickets can be booked by contacting the booking office after 6pm on 01299 825170. For further information about the group, log on to www.
