Two warders from Wormwood Scrubs, with a prisoner between them, took the air at Malvern on Wednesday, the reason being that the man in their care had obtained 25 shillings from a local resident by false pretences. He had advertised a Schipperke for sale, but the dog did not materialise, although the money was sent. A Metropolitan detective sergeant informed the Malvern bench yesterday that prisoner was an associate of dog thieves, and he was sentenced to three months' hard labour. Malvern News, March 3, 1906.
Lady Grey has kindly consented to open the new waterworks, and this ceremony will take place on March 29. It is to be hoped a fine day will favour the event. If, however, "shining ranks of rain" should appear during the proceedings, no officer of the council will be able to prevent the intrusion. On the 24th of May, the birthday of our late Queen, Mrs Dyson Perrins will open the new library, so Malvern will have two public ceremonies this Spring. Malvern News, March 10, 1906.

Severn Valley Radio's application to use Wheatfield Court, Callow End, as a local independent radio station was refused by Malvern Hills District Council's central area planning subcommittee. Land to the south of the building was to be used to provide 84 car parking spaces, and the county surveyor directed refusal on the grounds that substantial increase in the use of the sub-standard access would lead to dangerous conditions for other road users. Malvern Gazette, March 12, 1981.
