A BIRMINGHAM poet inspired pupils at an Alcester school to compose their own rap lyrics.
Pupils at Our Lady's School were visited by Giovanni Esposito - or "Spoz" - who worked with them to produce their own poetry and compete against each other in an X-Factor style showdown.
Spoz is an established poet and musician who has performed throughout England. He also works closely with the Poet Laureate Dreadlock Alien to bring poetry to schools.
Headteacher Sylvia Collins said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to express themselves in a unique way while having fun at the same time. They can see poetry is enjoyable."
