Law firm fixes buy-up

From the archive, first published Tuesday 21st Mar 2006.

WORCESTER law firm Harrison Clark LLP has once again acted for its long standing client Belgravium Technologies Plc (BTP) in the purchase of Novo IVC Limited based in Leamington Spa.

Like Belgravium, Novo IVC deals with real time data capture systems, supplying passenger retail systems for airlines and railways using hardware provided by Touchstar, another Belgravium group company. Arpinder Dhillon from the Harrison Clark Business Services team has been instrumental in the acquisition.

"We completed the Touchstar deal in September 2005 so it was exciting to be involved in another BTP acquisition so soon," she said. "The shareholder of Novo IVC was a Finnish company and we instructed Finnish counsel to advise on certain aspects of the transaction."

It was interesting to see how company acquisitions/disposals are dealt with in Finland and how they differ with the `English way of doing things'."
