I read your article on Wood Norton Hall closure and staff been made redundant. I was a former manager at this venue and was very disappointed to learn of its closure and the historic part it played in the beautiful Evesham.
It really begs the question of the BBC as to why they would sell this excellent employer and important part of the community to a unknown source, and indeed where was the union to look after the staff interests.
Before I left, the Hall had won the Heart of England small Hotel of the year award, and I was very proud of the Team that made this happen at Wood Norton Hall, indeed as I write to you today, nostalgia comes to me with the Cheltenham Race's beginning and the Hover of the Helicopters around the Vale.
What is even more astonishing, I called the Hall today, and was told it was opened for business this week.
So what is the reasoning behind the closure before Christmas?
Is there a hidden agenda going on and what of the poor staff?
Perhaps the Journal would look a little further into this sham that the BBC inflicted on the Wood Norton Hall and its long serving, hard working staff, that I had in the past, the pleasure to work with.
