TWO stalwarts have stepped down from Alcester's War Memorial Town Hall Committee after combined service of 39 years.
Jim Adams retired as chairman after 28 years, while secretary David Young has also retired after 11 years.
Last month's annual meeting heard Mr Adams praise the active nature and willingness to help of the committee, and also looked back at the number of projects completed during his tenure.
Mr Young presented Jim with a special silver-mounted decanter and a set of tumblers.
Mr Adams told the Chronicle: "There is a sadness after so much time as chair - but it's time to move on and for someone else to take over now."
Taking over as chairman is Peter Pritchard, while the new secretary is Vernon Munton.
