HANDS UP IF YOU ENJOY MY YOGA SESSIONS

PUPILS from St George's CE Primary School in Barbourne spent the day learning about the Hindu festival of colour, known as Holi. The youngsters went to Worcester Library yesterday to take part in art workshops based around the theme. They met Asian poetry writer Debjani Chatterjee, who went through some of her own works, encouraged them to write some of their own, and took them through some mini-Yoga sessions. Each class from the school also took part in a craft event, where they made art based around Holi. Holi is the Hindu festival that welcomes the spring and celebrates the new life and energy of the season. Although Holi has religious roots, not much religious activity is involved in its celebration.   more...
