Jazz what the doctor ordered

A LUCKY retired Worcester doctor has driven a shiny new Honda Jazz off the garage forecourt for the sum of just £1.

Dr Wendy Allen, aged 75, a former community paediatrician, was amazed to hear she had won the new car after her ticket had been drawn from the thousands sold in the area for the St Richard's Hospice annual raffle.

The Lansdowne Crescent resident said: "I was absolutely delighted when I was told the news. I've been a hospice supporter for a long time but I've never won anything."

The raffle brought in more than £23,000 towards the hospice running costs, The top prize was supported by Startin Honda, Worcester and Hewett Recruitment.
