CROCUSES in a memorial garden for breast cancer victims were in full bloom as council chiefs unveiled a plaque in their memory.
County council chairman Councillor Derek Prodger MBE unveiled the plaque in the garden at County Hall in the city's Spetchley Road.
He was joined by Jennie Bashforth, director of adult and community services, and various staff members for the event. Council staff bought bulbs for £1 to plant in the garden during Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October, raising £1,600 for the research charity.
The plaque is a tribute to all those who have been affected by breast cancer across Worcestershire.
Coun Prodger said:
"Hopefully, it will raise awareness of this serious condition and show our continual support."
