A HUNDRED candles were lit during a vigil at the war memorial, outside Worcester Cathedral, to remember the 100 British soldiers killed in Iraq. The vigil was one of many held around the country organised by the Stop the War Coalition. Neil Lawrenson, who organised the Worcester vigil, said: "The names of the dead soldiers were read out. It was a memorial service. We were not there to denigrate the dead. This was not a time to have an argument about what has happened in Iraq." The vigil was held on Wednesday, February 1.
