Famous hand font's creator

From the archive, first published Friday 10th Feb 2006.

THE dedication of a new font at St Andrew's Church, Poolbrook, was reported in the Gazette 25 years ago.

The final donation to pay for the £900 cost of the font had come in just two hours before the ceremony.

The font came from the redundant St Mary's Church, in Worcester, and was the work of famous 19th Century sculptor James Forsythe, who also created the Poseidon fountain at Witley Court.
