IN response to Paul Tuthill's letter in last Friday's Malvern Gazette regarding the computer controlled phasing of all the traffic lights from Link Top to the bottom of the Link, I can confirm that, after consulting with colleagues, we did indeed call for this to be a planning condition when we granted outline approval for the North Site development. However, if this condition has been overlooked in the planning approval notice, there will be ample opportunity at the detailed stage to put matters right.  more...

THE Rev. Ian Sim will lead a carols by candlelight service at Upton Baptist Church, in Old Street, at 6.30pm on Sunday, December 17. Church members will also take to the streets of Upton singing carols at 7pm on Saturday, December 16, and at 10.30am on Saturday, December 23. Meanwhile a razzle' organised by church member Bob Read raised £777 for the continued maintenance of the church hall. Mr Read's former employer Barclays Bank then donated a further £750, making a grand total of £1,527.  more...

MORE than 100 Christmas nativity scenes will give Upton Parish Church a festive feel in the run up to Christmas. The exhibition features handmade items from around the world, including Russian matryoshka dolls. It runs from tomorrow (Saturday) until Sunday, December 17, from 10am-5pm on weekdays and 2-6pm on Sundays. Admission is free but there is a suggested donation of £3 per adult.  more...

The Children's Society has gained £315 from a coffee morning held at the house of Peter and Marion Lewis last month.
