FOR the first time in its long history the soon-to-take-place annual treat for the poor in Bromsgrove and Stoke was short of cash to purchase the necessary food and gifts. So far donations from the public for the eagerly looked forward to event in the Drill Hall stood at £25. The sick and suffering put their troubles on one side, and the Matron and nursing staff were imbued with the Christmas spirit, and did all in their power to ensure the comfort of their charges.
