TALKING of quieter days, Alice and I went rock pool fishing as a final wave goodbye to a glorious sunny year. I had a blue net, she wielded a pink one and we soon had a bucketful. Our catch included hermit crabs, shrimps, blennies, small wrasse and a single sand eel - all of which were returned to the ocean. The nets cost £1.99 each and that's what I call a great day out.  more...
