My daughter played with a pop star
YOUNG people known to me have been enthusing about the latest beat group, a pair of chart-topping pop pickers by the name of Nizlopi.
Apparently, these jiving jeepsters really do swing with a crazy don't-you-rock-me-daddio rhythm. Hey - watch out George Chisholm, there are new hep cats prowling the block.
Nizlopi recently played Worcester. It's not often the Faithful City hosts something as hot as this, so it was a bit of a musical milestone.
One half of Nizlopi is Luke Concannon, and when I saw the first publicity shot, there was something very familiar about him. I mentioned this to my wife - and she filled in the details.
Years ago, when we lived in Stratford-upon-Avon, our eldest daughter would play with the son of a couple from Leamington Spa, Keiron and Sue Concannon. The two toddlers would gurgle away quite happily in the corner of the room, pausing only to force matchsticks into electrical sockets or maybe rip off sheets of loose wallpaper.
Keiron Concannon was an amateur musician in a band with a rather rude pun for a name.
It would appear that Luke has inherited his dad's musicality and I can imagine that his parents are very proud, indeed. So I was just wondering, Luke... remember me? I know E, A and D on the guitar - how do you fancy a real cool dude like me joining your groovy scene?
