Theatregoers spread plenty of good cheer

THE current pantomime at Birmingham's Hippodrome Theatre, Peter Pan, is all about fairies, fantasy and fun, and for the third year running the theatre has joined with Birmingham Children's Hospital so that patients and their families can enjoy their very own Neverland on a special outing to the theatre.

The theatre has been relying on its customers to make a charitable donation to help cover the cost of tickets, programmes and transport to give as many children as possible the chance to experience the magic of pantomime.

"I am very grateful to Birmingham Hippodrome theatregoers for their continued support of Birmingham Children's Hospital through the Panto Appeal. Such generosity will enable many of our patients and their families to enjoy a fantastic pantomime," said Paul O'Connor, chief executive of the Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Trust. He added: "Can we go again? We laughed so much and it was nice to do something with everyone!"

The panto runs until January 29 and once again stars Joe Pasquale, who was a hit last year in Jack and the Beanstalk.
