Riddle of snaps from 50s family album

PHOTOGRAPHS dating back to the 1950s have been discovered in a shop in Worcester city centre.

Now staff at The Cabin, which sells picture frames, are eager to return them to the owner.

It is believed that the pictures were left at the shop, off Trinity Street, at least six weeks ago.

However, staff kept hold of the eight black and white photos in hope that the owner would return.

But since that has not happened they were turned over to the Worcester News in a bid to trace the owner.

Calvin Fowler, who runs The Cabin, said: "The owner would have brought them in to see what size frames they needed."

On the back of one photo, bottom right, which is of six men standing in front of a lorry on a snow covered street, someone has written `Blackrod (near Manchester) 1952'.

Another, pictured left, shows two women standing behind two children - a boy and a girl. On the back is written `1957 or 58 Craighouse Street.

A third - of a group youngsters - says `Sam Good took this March 1957'.
