Spring theme

THE countryside in spring is the theme of a concert at Powick Village Hall tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm. The Hills Singers are performing The Taste of Spring in aid of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. The varied programme includes both 14th Century and modern music. The singers will also perform an Icelandic hymn and African songs in their original languages and will round off their performance with The Teddy Bears Picnic. Referring to the letter by Coun Jon Rayner, I would have thought that the few days' delay in payments to the elderly if the Portland House heating needed repair is hardly a major justification for spending an extra million or so on new headquarters!
