Sci-fi drama has point

A DRAMA inspired by residents who worked near the ill-fated Rover plant in Longbridge has inspired a science fiction docu-drama at the MAC in Birmingham.
Production company Stan's Cafe ventured out onto the streets of Longbridge to research docu-drama Home of the Wriggler, which has its world premier at the centre on Friday, January 27.
The company spoke to the people hit hardest by the decline of the car company and examines their relationship with the motor industry.
Set in the year 3006 Home of the Wriggler is set around an investigation into global warming, which looks back at the West Midlands population's unbreakable links to the car industry financially, politically and socially.
In a unique twist the cast has to generate all the power used in the performance through a range improbable mechanical devices.
The show runs from Wednesday, January 25 to 28 (8pm start). Tickets, which can be bought by calling 0121 440 4923, cost £10.
