RESIDENTS who live in rural areas are being warned to take extra care of their valuables following a spate of thefts.
The Bidford area, including Ardens Grafton and Temple Grafton, has suffered nine incidents of theft from motor vehicles towards the end of last year, and a further 19 since December.
Property stolen has included laptop computers, handbags and briefcases and mobile phones.
A police spokesman said: "It is important that drivers do not leave anything valuable in their cars, even for a few minutes. Thieves are always on the look out for an opportunity and are quick to act.
"It is not enough to hide valuables under a coat of blanket - out of sight is not out of mind where the thief is concerned."
Call Warwickshire police on 01926 415000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you see anyone acting suspiciously around parked cars.
