Only cruelty was stopped by ban

SIR - The hunting with dogs Act has not set about to ban hunting, only to stop hounds chasing its quarry to death. This is entirely why support for the hunts have increased. When the debate was being discussed horse riders said they were not following the hunt to see a kill. It was only to have a free ride of their horses around the countryside.
When will the Countryside Alliance and hunts accept that the present law is good because it did not stop the hunts but banned the cruelty. If I was a horse person I would enjoy a ride with a hunt.
