FOR a night of smooth grooves and jazz, try the Kingsley Theatre this week.
As part of Shindig, the Woodrow-based theatre presents the Daniel Smith Blues Band for an evening of entertainment on Sunday from 7.30pm.
Recently nominated as British Blues Keyboard Player of the Year, Daniel Smith has been described as a "brilliant, original, dynamically talented pianist (who) has made a name for himself as the new Jools Holland."
A two-set performance featuring Daniel on keyboard and vocals and fellow band members on bass, drums and guitar and harmonica is guaranteed to impress.
The group will play a range of authentic downhome blues, stomping boogie-woogie and classy blues and jazz grooves, mixed with Daniel's dry, laid-back, on-stage humour.
Tickets, priced £6 (concessions £5), are available from the Kingsley Theatre box office on 830731 (answerphone).
