From the archive, first published Wednesday 18th Jan 2006.

A COLOURFUL day is planned with the street procession of Alcester Court Leet and Guard of Honour.

Residents and visitors alike are welcome to watch the march on Sunday, January 22, from Bleachfield Street down High Street to St Nicholas Church, accompanied by the Alcester Victoria Silver Band.

The parade starts at 10.30am and a service of thanksgiving will be held in the church at 11am.

High Street will be closed while the parade takes place and again an hour later when those taking part march back to the town hall.

Forming the Guard of Honour will be the Royal British Legion, police and army cadets and the mayor and representatives of the town council will also be parading.

For more details on the Court Leet and the parade, call Court Leet Marshall Andy Mills on 01789 762857.
