AN account of the Gazette turning up in an unusual place appeared in the paper 50 years ago.
"A holidaymaker returned from an Italian summer says that the Malvern Gazette is daily be- fore the eyes of diners in a restaurant at Florence - La Croce al Trebbio in Via delle Belle Donne.
"The proprietor, keen to distinguish his restaurant in a city full of distinguished restaurants, decided to revolutionise his interior decorating and has plastered the four walls with the title heads of magazines and newspapers from all over the world."
Alongside the Gazette were such famous names as The Times, Le Figaro and the New York Herald-Tribune, as well as lesser-known titles such as the Bank of Tokyo Weekly Review and the Tuscaloosa News.
