THE 19th Open Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Show was held on Saturday, September 3 , when 219 items were shown by 30 exhibitors.
Members and friends had a pleasant day, with BBQ food available until lunchtime and tea and cakes during the afternoon.
The following is a list of major prize winners:
l Vegetable Section - Stuart Ross

l Best in Show vegetable/fruit - Alan Bradshaw
l Most Outstanding Exibit - Nick Houghton
The society's first indoor meeting of the 2005/6 season will be on Monday, October 17, at 7.30pm, when Robin Pearce will give an illustrated talk on dahlias and herbaceous perennials.
Robin hopes to bring a selection of plants from his own nursery.
Visitors are most welcome. Entry is £1.50 which includes tea/coffee and biscuit.
