Fit an arrow and pull back your bowstring

VISITORS to a museum this weekend may be all aquiver.

That's because the March Hares Field Archery Club is hoping to hit a target with a special event at the County Museum in Hartlebury Castle.

Hands-on experience will be available at the venue this Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2, between 11am and 5pm.

Archery's influence on British history can also be traced, including the origins of names such as Bowyer and Fletcher.

People can also discover the source of a certain two-fingered salute - a defiant gesture from the English bowman to the French opposing them at the

Battle of Agincourt that the digits used to pull back the bowstring were still in working order.
