THERE will be a touch of the Latin spirit in the air as a South American dance class kicks off in Worcester.
Brazilliance is a high-energy class drawing inspiration from Capoeira, a style which grew from the dances of African slaves taken to South America by the Europeans who had colonised them.
In Brazil slaves were not allowed to fight or train so they disguised their combat techniques with a dance resembling a martial art, which became Capoeira.
Brazilliance emphasises fluid movement sequences, working the whole body with a high aerobic component within each class.
The classes start at Worcester Arts Workshop in Sansome Street on Thursdays from 11am to noon, starting on September 29.
