Don't go Haydn - we need your voice

From the archive, first published Monday 26th Sep 2005.

VOICES will sing out in celebration at a special event in Pershore Abbey on Saturday, October 1, as part of a global fund-raiser.

The event will celebrate the first ever World Hospice and Palliative Care Day which is dedicated to increasing awareness of the work of hospices and raising urgently needed funds to ensure the care they give continues.

The occasion is a Come And Sing Haydn's Creation and will raise money for St Richard's Hospice.

Event organiser John Gosney said: "We hope that many people will come along to this lovely abbey and either sing or be part of the appreciative audience to help make this a very special event."

Singers who have some knowledge of the piece are invited to join in the event - bringing along their own copy of the music if they have one.

The performance is due to start at 7.30pm.

Singers are asked to arrive and register no later than 2pm for a 2.30pm rehearsal in the abbey.

Singers and members of the audience are asked to make a minimum donation of £5 each to go towards the hospice funds. For more information please contact Mr Gosney on 01386 553292.
