A dog's life

HAVING visited several times the excellent Dog Trust facilities at Wickhamford, it is immediately noticeable that more than 50 per cent are greyhounds.

Daily, weekly we read numerous `Pets for Sale - KC reg, now ready'.

It is the breeding for profit that needs to be curtailed. Neutering, spaying - the interference in natures supply of chemicals to the system, though widely practised is quite unethical.

Perhaps compulsory chip implantation at birth, though extremely difficult to enforce, should be considered.
