BADSEY SOCIETY: Around 60 people attended the society's Aldington walk last Friday evening. Maureen Spinks led the group which followed the route of the 1901 census enumerator. During the tour Maureen explained who was living in the cottages at that time, while local historian Terry Sparrow amused the crowd with anecdotal tales of the village. The highlight of the walk was a visit to the ancient barns in Mill Lane where a talk on mediaeval architecture was given by Tony Jerram. The evening, which was filmed by Evesham Movie Makers Club members ended with refreshments in Clive and Gill Stewart's secret garden.   more...

SMILE (Supporting Mums in Local Environments): The Evesham based SMILE mums' and toddlers' group are holding their summer fete on Saturday, August 6 at Bengeworth School. There will be lots of activities for all ages, face painting, bouncy castle, make and take with Honeybourne Potteries and the traditional stalls for everyone else, such as pick the plonk and a tombola.
