West Malvern Village Stores will close at 6.30pm next Wednesday, October 1, with no apparent likelihood of its re-opening in the near future. This follows the decision of Julie Ford, after running the shop seven days a week for the past three years, to move back to her home area in the Forest of Dean to be near her family. Julie thanks her customers for their support and friendship during her time in West Malvern. It is understood that the shop is available for rent, but that so far nobody has come forward to take it on. Owners Ron and Shelagh Mason, who have been travelling abroad since their retirement in 2000, are expected to remain overseas for some time yet.   more...
